About

All Spirit Events was founded by Adam Levy, the Alcohol Professor.  The company goal is to bring your  next event to another level.   Although we say we are a “Spirit” company, we work with all forms of alcoholic beverages including wine and beer.

Our events range from an intimate private tasting for ten people, to a larger presentation with fifty or more, to up to over a thousand people at a cocktail competition.  We will work with your employees as well as our experienced staff at any location.  We don’t believe in cookie cutter events and want to help make your next event a fun and memorable experience for all involved.

We are also not committed to any one liquor company which allows us to be even more creative and not limited to any one company or distributor’s portfolio.

We encourage you to challenge us to make your next event a great one!

Our founders bio

Adam Levy is the founder of the New York International Beverage Competitions, which encompasses both the NY International Spirits Competition and the NY International Wine CompetitionIn early 2012, it will also debut its next offshoot: The New York International Beer Competition.  It is Adam’s passion for spirits paired with a savvy journalistic observation that propelled him to create an unparalleled, authentic contest within the beverage industry.

Adam was inspired to develop the contest when reading an article in Malt Advocate. The peice revealed that in reality, some of the most well known West Coast Competitions present over 84% of the spirits that enter with a medal.  As a journalist and a consumer himself, Adam wanted to assemble a more evenhanded and honest competition – not a “medal factory” where cost of entry ensures high odds of winning. As a native New Yorker, he was compelled to develop an impartial New York-based competition where real trade buyers serve as the voice to pronounce the winners by category and by price range.

Before delving into the drink world- Levy earned a BA in Political Science and MBA in Business Strategy, beginning his career in the Tech field – working with ATT, Radware on the Business Development side. He then left the tech world and formed his own music equipment manufacturing company, Brooklyn Gear, where he worked with endorsees including Prince, Dave Matthews, Bon Jovi, Gwen Stefani and more.

Levy is now a recognized spirits authority, AKA “The Alcohol Professor”, and has been quoted as an expert in consumer and trade publications including Bloomberg and Bar Biz Magazine where he is now the Contributing Editor for Beer, Wine & Sprits. He most enjoys playing the role of educator – via private tastings and events through his company All Spirits Events.

He lives in the New York Area with his dog “Garrett Oliver”  So when he is not running a tasting or visiting a distillery or winery he makes sure to schedule his events around Rutgers Sports where he holds season tickets for multiple sports. He is excited about Rutgers joining the Big Ten!
